According to Dr. Suzuki, the correct division of time in the daily musical experience is:
1/3 Listening to Records
1/3 Tone Work (like Vocalization, listening to pitch and sound made with bow)
1/3 Playing Music
A student asked Dr. Suzuki how often she needed to practice and he replied with, “You don’t have to practice everyday, just on the days that you eat.”
“For every one time that you play the passage incorrectly, play the passage two times correctly.”
Repetition is key in the Suzuki Method.
